Duties for Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer

" a view to make better use of the services of the Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer and to eschew red-tapism, the duties and fucntions of the Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer are specified below:-

I. The Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer shall be attached with one section that shall exclusively deal with the following subjects

   a. Work relating to Stage carriages

   b. Establishment and Accounts

   c. Internal Audit and Accountant General Audit

II The Following additional responsibilities shall be vested with the Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer.

Opening and scrutiny of tapals

General administration, establishment, accounts and records

3.

To act as Cell Officer, hear public representations and watch the disposal of work across the counters.

To watch prompt dispatch of all reports to the State Transport Authority, State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Government and Accountant General on the due dates. He shall maintain a register of writ petitions etc.

Power under rule 135 of Tamilnadu Motor Vehicles Rules-1940 to authenticate documents.

Approval of routine correspondence like issue of reminders to parties and other departmental officers.

7.

Supervision of Financial procedures to ensure that the revenues due to Government are duly collected and booked.

8.

Any other duties that may be assigned by the Regional Transport Officer.

9.

Any other statutory  power that may be delegated by Regional Transport Authority.

III. Powers specifically delegated to the Personal Assistant to Regional Transport Officer under the Tamilnadu Motor Vehicles rules 1989 and the Tamilnadu motor Vehicles Taxation Act and Rules 1974 and the notifications mad the under, wherever necessary.
