Registration – Confiscated  Vehicle – (Chassis & Engine Numbers Must)

 In the case of vehicles confiscated and auctioned by the State/Central Government  departments such as forest department, where chassis and Engine numbers are totally erased and not visible, there is no possibility to register such vehicles Under section 44 of MVAct 88, all the vehicles to be produced for inspection at the time of registration. Chassis and Engine Nos. are essential and vital factors/particulars required for registration and for subsequent verification of gaminess of vehicle which may be warranted at the time of accident inspection and at the time of renewal of registration in respect of non transport vehicles and at the time of grant / renewal of F.C in respect of transport vehicles e.t.c. In view of the above reasons and under section 44 of MVAct 88 such vehicles cannot be registered.”
